Welcome aboard Candle Express where every candle is hand-poured in Minnesota with premium soy wax and our signature wood wicks. Below you’ll find tips to keep your candles burning their best, plus answers to the most common questions from our passengers.


✨ Candle Care Tips

1. Trim Your Wick

  • Before each burn, trim your wood wick to 1/8–3/16 inch.
  • Removing charred wood ensures a clean flame and longer candle life.

2. Let It Create a Full Melt Pool

  • Your first burn should be 2–3 hours, or until the melted wax reaches the edge of the jar.
  • This prevents tunneling and helps your candle burn evenly every time.

3. Keep It Clean

  • Avoid debris in the wax (matches, wick trimmings, etc.).
  • If the flame gets too high, extinguish the candle, trim the wick, and relight.

4. Safety First

  • Always burn on a heat-safe surface.
  • Never leave a candle unattended.
  • Keep out of reach of pets, and children.

5. Stop Burning at ½ Inch

  • When only ½ inch of wax remains, it’s time to retire the candle for safety.


Wax Melt Care

  • Use only in approved wax warmers.
  • Start with 1–2 cubes depending on warmer size.
  • Replace when the scent fades wax doesn’t evaporate.

What are your candles made of?

Every Candle Express candle is hand-poured with:

  • 100% soy wax
  • Premium, phthalate-free fragrance oils
  • Crackling wood wicks
  • Clean, simple ingredients—nothing extra.

How long do your candles burn?

Burn time depends on the size:

  • Wax Melts: ~10-20 hours (per cube)
  • 12 oz candles: ~60–70 hours
    (Actual time varies based on candle care and room conditions.)

Why is my wood wick going out?

Wood wicks need to be trimmed short. Extinguish, trim to 1/8 inch, and relight. If a wick drowns in melted wax, gently remove some wax with a paper towel once cooled.

Are your products safe for pets?

Yes — our candles are made with clean ingredients, but always burn with care:

  • Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
  • Ensure your room is ventilated.
  • If your pet has scent sensitivities, start with shorter burns.

Do you offer local pickup?

Yes! Candle Express is based in Sauk Centre, MN. Message us prior to order to arrange pickup location and time.
